Got an Offer but it’s not your top choice? Here’s what to do.
So, over 185,000 people have lost tech jobs so far this year.
"Stable company" isn't really a thing anymore.
Here's a move I want you to think about:
Your next offer is not necessarily the finish line.
One of my clients took a new role starting later this month. Good company, remote role.
But she has other opportunities in her pipeline that could be an even better fit.
So she's not stopping. She's thinking of it as a layover to another govtech position that has the security her family actually needs long term.
She's still prepping for her next interview. Still checking in with the hiring managers she's been talking to.
Not going full steam about it, but keeping current interviews running.
If you land somewhere and it's not your top choice, do this:
Keep 2-3 warm hiring manager conversations going. Tell them: "I'm in final stages with others, but still interested if the timing works."
Keep interviews going until you feel like you have found the one.
The people who land where they actually want to be aren't the ones who stop the day they get an offer.
They're the ones who keep going to give themselves as many options as possible.
P.S. If you want more structure and accountability than a blog can give, the door's open at Job Search OS.
